Average strategy guide

This strategy guide is average as although it covers a lot of material, it also leaves out a lot of things.
The enemy index that supposedly lists all enemies in the game leaves out quite a few, and many parts of maps only have descriptions with NO picture to go along with them, making secret boxes hard to find.

A Guide Like No Other- Bradygames' Best

About two or three years ago, I bought Mario RPG used without the manual. Then I got this Book. This book is the Bible of Mario RPG players' Guides. The strategies are excellent, The detailed descriptions of the areas and characters (although the Bestiary is a little off) in the game are as useful as they get, and it outshines even Nintendo's official player's guide in terms of usefulness. Although yes, it is in black and white as one fellow reviewer said, this small fault is nothing compared to the sheer volume of information contained in this book. If you only buy one player's guide for this game, let this be the one. It'll be the ONLY one you'll ever need.

This book is the god of Mario RPG!!!

Brady games did a great job on this book. It helps you out on mostly everything in the game; it also tells you some valuable info. I got the book and it helped me beat SMITHY'S @**. It goes in depth with every level and town and tells you where all the hidden treasures are. I think it is a good book and you should really get it if you are having trouble with the game.

History Today (of the First Edition)

First published in 1983, and then revised and reissued as a Second Edition in 1991, Professor Tittler�s Seminar Study has established itself as arguably the best short introduction to the reign of Mary I (1553-58). The author, an expert in the mid-Tudor period, addresses the deceptively simple question of whether Mary�s reign was really, as some historians claim, just �a sterile interlude� in Tudor history. It is a balanced account of the reign: Robert Tittler acknowledges the negative aspects of Mary�s rule but he also points to its more positive features. He argues that some of these, particularly in religion, came to nothing because of Mary�s untimely death; others were brought to fruition by Mary�s successor, Elizabeth I, who claimed the credit.

The core of the text is devoted to the main themes and events of Mary�s reign: the negotiations for a Spanish match, religion and the Catholic restoration, foreign affairs and the workings of Marian government. However, the reconstruction of historical events is balanced by the author�s consideration of the history of ideas and social and economic conditions. The text is supplemented by three helpful genealogies and a glossary of specialist terms.

I enjoyed this book. It was a precise no frills account of the reign of Queen Mary the First. I thought the book was mgood because it didn't bog you down with frills and thrills but a clear precise account of her reign. Very good book.

Incredibly Helpful

I had used this author's SAS book on survival analysis before, so I was expecting another virtuoso performance when this book came out. And I was not disappointed. The book is incredibly useful, provides clear examples, makes you feel like you really understand the statistics, provides voluminous SAS code to illustrate how to implement analyses, and even teaches you a few tricks about how to handle unusual data problems along the way. Highly recommended, even if you don't use SAS!

Must have book for the SAS user

In the first place, I am a pathologist writing a review on a book on statistics. That, by itself, will raise a few eyebrows. Few pathologists, in my opinion, understand statistical jargon. Yet, I would recommend this $40 book to even a novice in pathology who wants to do logistic regression modeling. While this books does explain logistic regression like most other books, what sets this book apart, are the real-world examples and the simple SAS code included with each example?
I have specifically been able understand GEE modeling only in this book, as compared to the numerous other books, where I find the statistical jargon intimidating; so much so that, I have ended up getting confused even after a couple of hours worth of intense reading. If you are devoted SAS user, you have probably read this book already. But if you are a novice pathologist and want to start learning a new program, I would advise Stata rather than SAS. SAS, in my opinion is code heavy. Yet, this book will be very useful to understand the varied uses of logistic regression (from exact to GEE analyses, especially from a pathologist's perspective). All discussions are to the point without too much jargon. For $40 this book is great value. I am just waiting to see if a newer version comes up in the near future.

If you need to understand logistic regression analysis and you must do it in SAS, then you must have this book.
Gives clear, concise explanation of logistic regression, how to accomplish it in SAS, and explains the details of the SAS results.
This book had me up and running in short order.

Very lightweight treatment of the Java EE APIs

This book provides a lightning quick review of all aspects of the Java EE 7 stack - including the WebSocket and JSON APIs - in about 300 pages.

This is an ambitious goal especially considering that entire books have been written on what exists as a single chapter here. Consequently, what you end up with is a book that is neither an introductory text for newcomers to the technology, nor one with the details required by advanced practitioners.

For e.g., the second chapter discusses all of Servlets 3.1 in 20 pages - including new features such as nonblocking I/O and upgrade processing - without the depth of coverage needed to show how they might be used effectively.

Overall, since the excellent (and free) Java EE 7 tutorial covers the exact same ground and is just as readable, I'm not sure why this book was even considered necessary.

In the end, I rated this book at 3-stars (It's Okay) given that it was well written, and had decent production values (proofing and technical editing).

A must in your JavaEE rescue kit

I received this book as a part of the now dead O'Reilly users group program. When I asked for this book I was specially interested due comments from my development peers . . . and most importantly because I was in the middle of a Software Architecture definition.

I'm writing this review after 7 months of using it on daily basis, basically because our development stack is composed by AngularJS on the front-end and JavaEE 7 on the back-end (with a huge bias to the Hat company). At the office we have an small books collection (because IT books are pretty dead after five years), and Aurun's book is our prefered book for the "Java EE 7 rescue kit".

If I have to choose two adjectives for this book I must say "quick and versatile", this book deserves all of its fame because it has the balance between a good reference book and a user friendly introductory book, most of the IT books don't achieve it.

I don't wanna copy the index page but I have the following favorite chapters:

Servlets
RESTFul Web Services
SOAP Web Services
JSON Processing
Enterprise Java Beans
Context and Dependency Injection
Bean Validation
Java Transactions
Java Persistence

Most of the book samples are based on Glassfish, and is easy to guess why looking at the publication date. However, talking from my true-heavy-metal-monkey-developer-architect experience, this book uses only pure JavaEE 7 apis and I've been able to run/use the samples on Wildfly without issues.

For those that are looking a good book for JavaEE 7 development, on any of the certified Java EE 7 servers this is a must.
Highlights

Good balance between tutorial and reference.
Few content compared to the Java EE Tutorial but still in the point.
The samples should work on any Java EE 7 server.

Could be better

WebSockets section is small in relation to the other chapters, it feels incomplete.
The cover brings to my mind the good old days when Glassfish was that application server that everybody is talking.

Move from Java EE 6 to Java EE 7

Java EE 7 Essentials is a really good book to get start with Java EE 7. The author gives a lot of information about Java EE in general and what are the additions of Java EE 7 in particular, accompanied by examples that clarify these new concepts.

In my opinion some of the examples provided in the book are too simple and for my taste I wish they were a bit more complex but of course I understand the point of view of the author to write examples for all kind of readers.

One part which I really like about the book, and I haven't seen in many technical books, was a complete final example. This is something that I have found so valuable, because after reading the book it helps you to have an overall overview of what you have learnt and how each of the new Java EE features fits together.

This is a book that all Java EE developers should read to keep their knowledge updated with the new capabilities of Java EE 7. But I discourage this book for developers who didn't know anything about Java EE 6, because the author focuses on Java EE 7 specification and assumes that you already know the basics of Java EE6.

In summary I would say that this is a "must have" book for all developers who want to update his knowledge about Java EE.
